I. ALL ABOUT ALICE
Alice is a fashion and textiles designer and researcher based in Queensland, Australia.
Originally trained in Painting and art theory, Alice brings a unique sensibility to all her design work. In the past she has drawn inspiration from the dog-eared novels of her childhood, or from the chill landscape of a Mountains' winter.
For her collections, she designs pieces that are functional and wearable, with a dash of whimsy.
Versatility is key, with elements that detach or can that can be worn in new ways.
An ongoing area of exploration is in creating designs using sustainable principles - garments
that can be broken up into modules that allow the wearer to swap them around, mix them with existing wardrobe pieces and in
doing so doing extend the life of the garment. Due as much to an innate thriftiness as well as more altruistic
ambitions, Alice attempts to use recycled cloth where possible, including fabric remnants, vintage (or just plain old) fabrics and garments. Useful for toile fabrics too, saves on calico.
